New nib

Testing out a new nib, I copied this guy from an old engraving. Jaw line beards sans moustache are always a bad sign.
Pen, ink and watercolour. 9cm x 13cm. Click to enlarge.

I treasure nibs..... (sounds weird)... I have a collection that dont want to work (must be the angle of my hand or something) I Personally blame the pen.... ... so when one does...er work, its precious.... !

Scarily beautiful! & I'm a nib nut too. Hunt 108 is my constant companion.

Nicely rendered. You kept the feel of the woodcut while giving it a nice inking style. For some reason, I was especially drawn to the hat.

Jaw-line beard - no central heating in those days - gotta keep that neck warm!
Love the engraved/woodcut look of this piece Ellis. Love those nibs, too. I've got a bunch of very old Speedball nibs that I treasure. I like to take them out for a spin, now and again.

Beautifully drawn and a very convincing look of a woodcut! I've always thought the sans moustache was an odd look too, since Thoreau had it also maybe it's okay! ;)
