Spalding & Ashintillie

Broke in a new sketchbook with this page of notes, starting from top left:
A man caught on the horns of the dilemma concerning free will versus determinism; how a charmed knotted chord marred "the wedded happiness" of a Scottish couple, and in 1718 a case of "spreading desolation" throughout Bordeaux by similar means.
Finally, a large four-legged matron being steered by a tiny mahout on her shoulder.
