Oh I do envy you. I've not seen one of those since Adam was a lad.

Oh, that's where I left him! Thanks!

About the paints-- I always had trouble with retarder leaving the painting tacky for longer than I liked. It may be that I'm just not precise enough about mixing or proportions-- I'm actually rather impatient when I'm painting-- too eager to put brush to canvas-- in any case I find the open acrylics much easier to use. It's wonderful not to have to mix up extra & store it for color matching, or worry about the consistency/ archival issues with additives. Mind you I'm still in the honeymoon phase! I'm something of a medium slut! But I'm also a cheapskate-- when I started out I did just a grisaille study to see if I liked the feel of the paints-- needless to say I did-- so much so that I went right out & bought more. Still only a restricted palette, since I can mix in the regular acrylics when I need just a touch of something else.

What are the caterpillars like?

We've got a whole herd of the fuckers living at the bottom of our garden. They're really hard to kill. One doesn't know whether to use a fly-swatter or an air-pistol.

Writing this comment has made me suddenly remember that last night I dreamed of rats.

Love the line work in this. It is so pretty. I am a fan of elephants though so i'm a little bias.

I would like to have a tiny winged elephant. Mail one to me. Be sure to poke holes in the package.
