Consolation

Here we see Sébastien Chabal being consoled by his mum after England defeated France today in the Rugby World Cup semi-final.
Well, no, it's actually a copy I made of this painting by the mighty Jacopo Basano.
Watercolour 14cm x 19cm. Click to enlarge.

rugby, oh dear, I am a half Australian / NZer living in France... I should be sad shouldn't I?

I love your illustration!

I like the fact that even in the publicity stills, he's got some gaping wound on his face.

As if to say: I'M FUCKING HARD, I AM.

Or even (Inspector Clouseau voice): Erm furkin ard hi'yam.

I'd rather look at your watercolours for two hours than watch rugby.

All rather appropriate on the site of one whose interests include 'most things except sport'
Looks like I'll have to cheer for SthEfrica.
