Some of the others look lonely and vulnerable, but astute; all of them look astute. Maybe one day you'll draw one of them a Scottish widower. Then we could all come to your inbox for the wedding and cheer an' that. Maybe drink a little champagne. Maybe a lot.

Great portraits, are they all real widows? Is she the wife of Willem de Kooning? ..or just imaginative sujets?
I agree with Prozac. This whole series is wonderful, however I wouldn't have sold the de Koonings

I love the way the straplines always seem to fit the faces so well.
