Dear Ellis Nadler, many years ago at a bar in Antibes I saw a drunk man and a deaf wife. The scene was strident and ugly. I have never forgotten it.
On a similar note I once saw two deaf people on a bus having a ferocious row in sign language. The aggression was astonishing.
