London cabs were affordable back in the 80's. Long before the days of the
Congestion Charge one could spend ages stuck in traffic, so to pass the time I used to draw the back of the cabbie's head. I thought of turning it into a series, but never did. Here are 2 trips: Warren St. to Connaught St. and back to Grafton Way.
Pen and ink 10cm x 15cm.

Great style, as usual. Do you know R. Crumb's work?
i like it ... makes me think of comic strips though :) which is not a bad thing really...
Hahaha... nice pair of illos, Ellis. Very illustrative ;)
Great sketches! I love the male pattern baldness on cabbie number one. Could be my husband who was a cabbie back in the eighties.
heheh...cool!!!
this is a fun idea.
Great sketches!
Nice idea and style...but out of cab rage you then switched to riding bikes and the sketching got much more difficult??? Now that is a series I want to see...
Great stuff. Particularly like the hunched posture of the guy in the cap.
Black cabs are definitely better for sketching than minicabs: you got a longer view. Probably even more bumpy though.
