GTV-2000

Back in the 80's I had an Alfa Romeo GTV 2000. An old car even then, with a beautiful Bertone body that was prone to rust. It reeked of Waxoyl and had a proper wooden steering wheel. It was the only car I ever sold for more than I paid for it.
Here we see a self portrait showing a high speed run down the A23 out of London. The right hand is performing the traditional British motorists' greeting, whilst steering with the knees.
Indian ink 15cm x 10cm.

Wow, and I can't even write legibly in a moving car. And that's as a passenger!

We have a similar traditional motorist's greeting here...it involves fewer fingers though...and your steering wheel is on the wrong side...

I'll remember the greeting so I can use it when going to England, I'm always afraid of not blending in ;)

This probably won't put me on your "good" books.. but do what I do, and put all your illustration friday submittions in one post. That way, you don't have to re-submit on the site. Easy peasie..

On the site i think it mentions this.

PS_ The Alfa Romeo in the pic has the wheel on the left side.. where you in america at the time? Nice drawing just aswell..

Thanks...now that I see that I feel my effort at sarcasm was ruined...sorry Ellis, I'll try harder next time...

This is the best in-car drawing I've seen! The two fingured salute is a bit quaint now though, isn't it?

Ellis, you obviously drove this car the way it was meant to be driven - with hand signals and passion!!
